Remember Me

Remember Me

Remember me,

tho nevermore

my face you’ll see,

for I will still

abide with thee

in shadows long-

unfettered-free,

reaching

towards eternity,

yet will I come

if only ye

have need and lonely

call to me-

thus to your side

and swiftly!

forever where I long to be.

Hear my voice in

the cicada serenade,

feel my touch in

sunlight on your skin,

see me in the smile of a child-

running wild,

for shall I be!

Do not weep,

when ’ere you sleep,

for we shall meet

in dreams as sweet

as honeysuckle dew

Remember me,

I’ll not forget you.

Undulating acrobat,

On silken threads

she deftly treads

across the great abyss

and so creates a

masterpiece of

glistening perfection,

hidden in plain sight.

Beware the tender trap!

It will ensnare

and so beware

this fatal beauty

resting in the center

of her universe…

she is the weaver

of silken death.

Pure delight-

veil of oblivion

obscures the world

of curious eyes,

no more you and me,

we blend as one in

ecstatic golden euphoria

that numbs the senses

shatters my defenses,

soul laid bare and

barely aware of time,

our enemy and friend

and thus we pretend

we are are its master

as it marches ever faster,

stealing the future,

clouding the past,

as evening casts

long shadows

where we lay

spent,

content,

he ticks his tock,

this bitter clock

called a life,

within its well

hope springs

eternal!

What Matters…

What we hold in the palm of our hands,

delicate gift, the heart understands.

What we possess but forget

in the wake of regret

withers in shadow

of doubt.

Fragrant remains of desire,

kindling for funeral pyre,

The bits that you clutch,

have so numbed your touch,

while faint memory lingers

I slip through your fingers

as dust in the wind

and no way to mend

the bridge that once

called you a friend.

Forgotten.

I gave you all that pain allowed,

wiped every tear and thusly vowed

to keep my tender heart confined,

the unseen chains that I designed

were all that would embrace me,

enfold, protect, encase me.

And yet, somewhere within this cell

there lies the deepest, hopeful well

of adoration, inclination,

burning, churning, yearning-

that you find me and remind me

how it feels to feel again.

Don’t Kill the Fairies!

“Every time a child says it doesn’t believe in fairies, a fairy falls down dead,” said Peter Pan.

Do you believe?

Since the beautiful Samara showers began in early Spring, I have had faeries on my mind, invading my thoughts and stirring my soul.

With childish glee

and fancy flight

They dot the sky

to night’s delight.

Like tinkling bells

their laughter rings,

they whirl and twirl

on gossamer wings!

“Do you believe,”

she whispers low.

”Can you follow me

where’er I go?

(Come, Come!”)

A blink, and gone,

she out of sight,

a spiral string

of twinkling light

winds its way to

heaven,

as there I stand

mouth agape, eyes wide,

my faerie soul swelling with pride.

Would that I, my wings would sprout,

and arms spread wide thus leap and shout

to leave this terra far below and rise to join celestial glow.

(Please, please don’t kill the faeries. Quick, clap your hands together three times!)

The Understudy

Behind the curtain,

beneath the lights

and hidden safely

out of sight

she waits.

Recites her lines

with sheer perfection,

the moves and words,

her grand reflection

of heart’s desire.

Her role it seems

fell short of dreams,

though happy she

tenaciously

supports the cast.

They who shine

and intertwine

creating magic,

tender, tragic…

IMG_4439-photo

’till bright stars fall!

The, blossoming,

she takes the stage,

her book of life

thus turns a page-

she is newborn!

Glowing, growing

rave review

her dreams it seems

all coming true.

She climbs the heights

to light the nights…

as they who climb

are marking time,

taking their marks

like hungry sharks

they circle

and wait,

thus the fate

of

The Understudy.
